MARCIA M. GOVERNALE joined Hemenway & Barnes in 2007 as an associate working with the Business Law Group. Ms. Governale represents privately held businesses at all phases of development in equity and debt financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions; technology licensing arrangements; corporate restructurings; corporate governance; and general commercial transactions.
Ms. Governale graduated from Swarthmore College in 1996 (with distinction) and received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2003, where she was an Executive Editor of the Yale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and Ethics. She also received her M.S. in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan in 1998 and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Following graduation from law school, she practiced in the business law area at Foley Hoag LLP in Boston, Massachusetts.
