JOHN J. MADDEN

JOHN J. MADDEN joined Hemenway & Barnes in 1971 where he is currently of counsel. He became a partner in 1973 and has served as the firm's Managing Partner. For more than 25 years, Mr. Madden has concentrated his professional practice in corporate and business law. The core of his practice was the representation of Massachusetts entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses in a wide variety of industries.

Mr. Madden is a member of the American Bar Association, of which he has been a member of the Business Law and Antitrust Law Sections throughout his career, and is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.

Mr. Madden served a four-year term as a trustee of Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill and also served as a member of the President's Circle Executive Committee at Boston College.

He graduated from Boston College in 1959 (summa cum laude) and Boston College Law School in 1962 (magna cum laude) where he was Case Editor of the Law Review. Following his graduation, Mr. Madden clerked for Justice Jacob J. Spiegel of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
